JP Morgan and Titanic

JP Morgan Chase & Co. is American multinational investment bank and financial services holding company headquartered in New York city. Also, you might be well aware of the world’s largest man-made object, the Titanic. This beauty was 269 meters long and 28 meters wide. From keel to bridge she was 32 meters high, 53 meters to the top of the stacks. And you might be surprised to know that Titanic was owned by the American tycoon, John Pierpont (J.P.) Morgan whose company retained the ownership of the White Star Line (who built Titanic).

I wonder if you know that there are a couple facts about Titanic that implies that the ship sinking was a deliberate act rather than an accident. This might not be entirely true and even according to experts this was an accident, but I consider the facts worth sharing for knowledge’s sake. This blog will definitely intrigue you.

According to one theory, millionaire banker JP Morgan planned this disaster to kill his rival millionaires named Jacob Astor, Isidor Straus and Benjamin Guggenheim, who were there on this ship because of the opposition he received from them on the creation of the Federal reserve. The fact that JP Morgan was actually supposed to be on the ship on the day of the sail (12 April, 1912), but he changed his mind and was not on-board before it took off, supported this claim heavily. And Titanic hit an iceberg and killed more than 1500 people out of 2223 passengers and crew members. Thus, fulfilling JP Morgan’s purpose.

There’s another insurance claim policy associated with Titanic and JP Morgan. This theory suggests that Titanic was never actually sunk and it was replaced with another White Star Line ship, the R.M.S. Olympic. The Olympic was damaged and sailing towards New York in September 1911. Afterwards the company repaired the ship and sailed it back Southampton, England from where the Titanic sailed out. This conspiracy theory claims that some people found R.M.S. Olympic to be too heavily damaged to be profitable. So, they intentionally switched the ship with Titanic and let it sink to get the insurance money, even when this involves killing of people.

These claims and theories might be completely wicked and are not relevant to current situation, but the fact that intrigues me is, “What if the claims were actually true”. So, I consider it worth sharing. I really want to know what you think of this.

  1. Woahh..! Great info bhaiyaa. This theory is completely mind blowing and totally wicked at the same time. It’s like comitting a crime without comitting a crime. But also there’s possibility that these theories might be just theories.
